BE-102C is a highly active off Claus and "leaky O2" protective bifunctional catalyst. The activity of the modified catalyst is mainly alumina carrier, loading amount of active metal salts formed when present in the off gas stream "leaky O2", the catalytic conversion may be O2 SO2 (converting mechanism is as follows):
MSO4 +2 H2S → MS2 + SO2 +2 H2O
MS2 + O2 → MSO4 + SO2
So Claus process gas to reduce the residual traces of O2 to 10ppm or less, in order to avoid or protect Al2O3 based catalysts sulfate poisoning.
